Life in Orange-Tinted Glasses

the tales of wengky na pooh

March 28, 2009

(just blogging before the Earth Hour. Hope you folks will participate in this worldwide event too. An hour is just a fraction of a day, right? Surely it won’t hurt. :D )

I won’t make this entry long. Just want to share you a quote which my friend Marice shared on her Plurk. It’s a quote by one of the most adorable shortless bear in the world, Winnie the Pooh (i really needed to say the shortless part, haha) that gave birth to her calling me “wenggoy na pooh” which I altered a bit and changed into “wengky na pooh”.

“If ever there is tomorrow when we’re not together.. there is something you must always remember. You are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think. But the most important thing is, even if we’re apart… I’ll always be with you.”

— Winnie the Pooh

I guess we’ll always have that one person we would believe so much in. :D Maybe me and Winnie are twins? Haha. Twin believers. Naks.

Oh well, need to rest early. Tomorrow’s the Civil Service Examination. And I’m taking it, so that I’ll obtain legibility to work for the government. Did I mention that I highly admire and would be honored to meet Tourism Secretary Ace Durano? I know it’s not impossible. Wee. :D

P.S. Marice also called me “wenggoy the titan”. Origin? Waha I forgot what it is exactly, but still on Plurk, I said something about the Justice League and Superman (at talagang kelagan kong ihiwalay si Superman kahit na part talaga siya ng Justice League! Ako na ang bias! Haha) and her being a sexy goddess I am giving advices to. Eureka! Wenggoy the Titan. Waha.

the emancipation of wengky

March 27, 2009

Haha, natawa ako sa title ko. (Kung si Mariah ay si Mimi, ako naman si Wengky. Haha!)

Now I can really attest that a lot of beautiful things can happen to a person in one day. I feel so blessed and thankful, really.

*My grade in the subject where I initially got a passing mark was reconsidered. My professor thought I did not submit the outputs, perhaps he did not get my papers and emails? Good thing he let me re-email him. Thank God. Now I just have to bug (as in “kulitin” hehe) the Dean’s Office and the Registrar until my grade gets fixed so that my transcript would be accurate. :D

*An opportunity is coming.. thanks to our Department Chair, Sir Nikki Salandanan’s, recommendation. We’ll see. :D

*Pupi is back home from their Tagaytay seminar. :D

*I ate snacks at Chowking with my friends. :D

*FINALLY. I did what I’ve prayed for to be able to do. Now I can look back to college and a sweet smile would be traced in my lips. If you are grateful for something or for someone, you should at least show how thankful you are. I think it would go both ways din. :D (o kayo na ang may symbiotic relationship! Haha!) Let these plurks do the rest of the talking:

I’m hoping, to whoever reads this post, that you too, with whatever you’ve been keeping for a long time now, for whatever you are thankful for, for whatever you want to say, you’d be able to do it. JUST DO IT! sabi nga ng Nike diba? :D

And even John Mayer said it in a song, “IT’S BETTER TO SAY TO MUCH THAN NEVER TO SAY WHAT YOU NEED TO SAY”.

elation

March 25, 2009

The Davids, Archuleta and Cook, are coming to the Philippines on MAY 16! Just found out few minutes ago, thanks to Kuya Victors, Plurk. Naeskandalo sa’kin si Mumu (she didn’t go to the office today) dahil tili ako ng tili at sabi niya baka marinig ako ng mga kapitbahay. But I don’t care! Imma be watching this concert! Oh please may my funds suffice! Haha. I love both of them although initially I was so into Cookie, but listening to both their albums made me an Archie convert now. (Archienoys ang tawag sa mga Archie fans dito sa Philippines.) And my parents love them both too! :D

Another thing to be elated about: I’m really having a fun time @ Pet Society! Just a while ago my pet Wenggoy Jr. garnered more trophies, then we played ball and jumping rope, visited a lot of our friends, dropped notes and thanked them for their gifts. Sweetness! He’s in Level 5, “Fresh Face”. I’m not really in a hurry, I’m just enjoying my stay coz it’s really fun! The last time I became hooked with virtual pets was back in high school, when I became totally addicted to Neopets. I wonder how it’s doing now. Hehe

Just a while ago, I had a chat with one of i.ph’s representatives for their live support. I had to consult them because I had problems installing my widgets (such as plurk and feedjit) and I was amazed that they really do have this representative available for consultation. Thank you again, Ms. Jonah! At the same time I was also scouting the web for some sources that would possibly talk about the installation of these widgets, then I found this site of kundiman, wrote about the pros and cons of i.ph. There was a particular con she mentioned, about i.ph bloggers having less freedom to customize their site and stuff. And with that, I realized that I am a low-maintenance kind of person who doesn’t want to do pretty much everything and is more often than not contended with what’s available. If it suits my needs and doesn’t cost much (the money factor applying to gadgets and the like), then I’m cool with it. Besides, I can’t really give much time in customizing my site with all the CSS and HTML work, although I know a thing or two (or maybe more! Haha) about it. But of course, this is a question of choices and preferences. Freedom! Haha.

Speaking of not having much time, it’s because I want to do a lot of things! Haha. Stuff to read, movies/series to watch, things to write about, songs to listen to, the list goes on and on and on. That’s why I’m really looking forward to my vacation so I could begin doing all these things! WIthout anything to bother me. Sometimes I actually feel that I’m more excited about the vacation rather than the graduation! Pretty weird of me, right?

Now that I have a new blog, I feel more motivated again to share different kinds of things, indefinitely.  With Plurk I always get to share, but of course the character limitation per plurk is always a bit challenging, especially when I want to write longer. Haha.

Other random thoughts:

*the new Biogesic Kids ad is cool. Minimalistic, using the animated “B” in Biogesic to illustrate mother and child. Sweet.

*ganda rin ng bagong MTV ng Itchyworms para sa “Gusto Ko Lang Sa Buhay”. Concept inspired by the Free Hugs event in UP (which, according to Panky, actually originated in another country - still have to look that up! Haha. Feel-good video and song that talks about the joy of having someone by your side albeit you’re not rich or famous.

*lastly, I found this from one of my folders:

fourth home

March 24, 2009

oh my, I think I forgot how to blog. Haha.

Maybe because I got so used to Plurk, my online timeline, that I feel like I’m a bit struggling with this. Oh well, sometimes we come back right? (Quoting Nathan Scott of One Tree Hill)

This is my fourth blog site ever since I started blogging in high school. From Friendster, to Blogspot, to LiveJournal, and now, on i.ph. Fickle blogger, eh? Haha. I wanted to have a fresh new blog because I am not as satisfied as I used to with my previous blog. But perhaps I’d still post there, like maybe if I make a Graduation post, I might as well put it there.

Speaking of Graduation, it’s not just butterflies fluttering all over my body, but fireflies are regularly paying a visit too. And it’s not because of Graduation per se, but because there are things that I still wish to do before the Big Day arrives. You know that feeling when things are about to end, you just want to make sure that all the doors are really closed and all their keys are in your hands.

On the lighter side, I’m really glad we’ve finally finished our Thesis and submitted it a while ago. *rock on sign* + *headbang* (haha!)

my groupmates & I before our defense last month. :D (oh well we had to scrap the “Model Ads” in our title for the revision! haha!)

I just have one academic concern to worry about, and that is the appeal for the reconsideration for that mere “Passed” grade I received. But I’m too sleepy to talk about it now. Then I accompanied my friends Adie and Jenn to a salon near USTe to give moral support to their haircuts. Yii friends! :D

Another light news for me, I finally registered (after eons and after my friends’ unwavering persuasion for me to join) to Facebook’s Pet Society. I am proud to present my pet, Wenggoy Jr.:

I find him really cute, reminiscent of my pet cats here at home. FYI, I call cats as “mingkies” (sing. is “mingky”) :D

This is it for now. I’m still learning the twists and turns of i.ph. But so far, so cool.
